Frequently Asked Questions About Leasing

Frequently Asked Questions About Leasing A New Nissan

When our Babylon, Dix Hills, and beyond drivers are searching for a new Nissan vehicle, they have two main purchasing options: loaning and leasing. While loaning has been the most common for many years, leasing is quickly becoming one of the most popular vehicle purchasing options among our Bay Shore area drivers. If you're considering leasing a new Nissan car, truck, or SUV, you may have a few questions or concerns. To help, here are a few answers to some of the most frequently asked leasing questions.

Why is Leasing a Good Option?

Every financing option comes with its own list of pros and cons. Leasing is no different. That being said, leasing does come with many benefits that make it a great option for a wide array of Huntington Station, Suffolk County, and Brentwood, NY, area drivers. These include:

  • Short Term Commitment - If you'd prefer to upgrade to a newer vehicle every few years, a lease is perfect for you. Leasing terms are short, allowing you the opportunity to switch to a new or a different vehicle without having to deal with the hassle of reselling a loaned model.
  •
  • Lower Up-Front Costs - Most leases come with lower monthly payments than their financed counterparts. They also tend to include less expensive tax, registration, and insurance fees.
  •
  • Less Worry - Because the new car warranty lasts for the length of the lease, you won't ever have to worry about major repair costs. You will still need to have routine maintenance done, but some of those services may also be covered.

How Long Does a Lease Last?

While every lease is different, most new Nissan leases last for about three years. Of course, everything is negotiable. So, if you'd like to have a shorter or longer lease, don't hesitate to talk to our sales consultants.

Do I Have to Put Money Down on a Lease?

This also varies depending on what type of lease you're interested in and how high your credit score is. The higher your score, the more likely you are to get a low or no down payment lease. The type of car you're trying to lease may also become a factor. Like we mentioned before, everything is negotiable, so if you'd like to pay a less expensive down payment, feel free to ask our sales team. We also have many ongoing leasing specials that could take away the down payment or lower it. While lowering the down payment may be a good option for you, we do suggest putting something down on your new Nissan lease. Any form of a down payment will lower the overall price as well as the monthly payments.

How Many Miles Do I Get with a Lease?

Most leases include between 12,000 and 15,000 miles a year. If you do go over these miles, you will be given an over-mileage penalty fee. If you think that you're going to drive more than the typical mileage limit, talk to our sales consultant and adjust the number of miles given. It's better to have a higher limit than going over the limit and having to pay the fees. Learn more about what happens when your lease ends.
